I equate the soul with the spirit, and I fully believe that when you align your spirit with your personality you will find not only the first signs of personal understanding and enlightenment, but personal empowerment. When you align your personality with your spirit, you will discover an awakening, you might feel a pull, and maybe for the first time in your life you might actually begin to feel as if you have a calling or a purpose! How exciting is that?
How does one align their personality with their spirit? By doing the work. By doing what it takes to fully understand who you are. By finding your voice, by listening to it. By being willing to listen to what it is truly trying to tell you, and also by having the courage to let your voice be heard.
Aligning your personality with your spirit means to walk in authentic shoes. It means to know who you are...who you truly are. Not the fact that you are married, or how many children you have, or the fact that you are a pharmacist or a songwriter. It's much deeper than that. Your job in life is to discover who you are, and then to align your words and actions with that.
It is understanding what values are important to you, and also by accepting that everyone does not share the same values, and that's ok! Each of us has a different personality that holds different values and different levels of importance. It is our job to align our actions and values with those values we hold to a higher level of esteem.
To align your personality with your soul means being bold enough to ask yourself the questions that are sure to stir up all the "stuff" you've been pushing down for too long - and then having the balls to do something about it! To get to the root of your issues, so your true self can shine through. It is changing the daily habits that keep you from being empowered, and creating daily spiritual practices that remind you to return to your oneness with the universe. (A simple example would be to change from eating fast foods and processed foods, to clean eating. Or instead of spending time gossiping or trash talking others, taking the time to meditate or do yoga.)
Just think of how enhanced your life would become if you actually lived (or walked) the spiritual path you seek. That spiritual path is nothing more than having an aligned personality and spirit.
