Dance amongst the stars
Sit within the sunshine
Discover who you are
Listen to the little birds
Chirping in the trees
Hear the whispers of your soul
Being carried by the breeze
Awaken to your spirit...discover who you are

Today I let go
I breathe a breath of peace For myself and for you Release and trust that all is divine, all is love Today I let go Of forces that did not allow me to be true True to my being True to my source Today I let go The journey and the lessons I respect For my wish is that you too someday say Today I let go Maureen Hayes 7/31/2009 If I were to die today
what would people say Would they say I loved with all my heart or behaved in selfish ways Would they say I gave to others or only took away Would others say that I forgave or held grudges everyday Did I always have to get even or could I walk away What would others say If I were to die today Did I speak of others lovingly or talk behind their backs Or did I praise and value them Not needing verbal payback Was my attitude a pleasant one that others wanted to be around or was I always negative without a friend to be found When my life is over and it's time to review I hope that others say "I know she loved you too" I hope to leave a legacy that speaks for who I am I hope my words and actions Prove I'm not a sham I hope when all is said and done It is obvious to others I was a loving friend and wife and a very loving mother My intentions were always from the heart and my love was deep and true I hope they say these words of me as I bid adieu Life is a gift treat it as such and live in such a way That others would speak in praise of you If you were to die today Maureen Hayes Feb. 7, 2013 This poem was written in memory of Berto Noah on 2/7/2013. I was inspired to reflect on these thoughts after hearing some of the most inspiring and encouraging words that friends and family members shared as we gathered to support one another after hearing of the tragic and sad loss of Berto on Jan 26, 2013. I woke up the morning of Feb 7th questioning myself what others would say about me "if I were to die today." Berto made everyone want to be a better person. He led by example and his parents have every right to be so very proud of the young man he turned out to be. He had the most amazing smile and he lit up a room even before he entered! He was an instant friend to everyone he met. He loved everyone and everyone loved him. Berto you were my inspiration for these words and you will be forever missed and forever loved. Remove all the borders Knock them all down Take away the walls How does that sound Open your heart To the love that surrounds Welcome to the world Where oneness abounds No judgment no fear No labels no hate We all live as one We collaborate No boundaries no doors No gates no walls Brother can't you see There’s enough for us all What’s mine is yours And you share too There is abundance for all For me and for you Awaken your spirit We all come from one To love and respect To believe it can be done Acceptance and unity And if we persist Segregation and separation Cease to exist Love one another There is no fear It starts from within This is the year The time has come The time is now Love starts with me Let me show you how By Maureen Hayes |
