We've all heard of doing positive AfFIRMations, where one AFFIRMS what they wish to have in their life by repeating affirming thoughts such as:
*My business is growing
*Money comes to me easily and effortlessly
*I can quit smoking
*I make healthy choices for my body
*Today will be an awesome day
The purpose of saying affirmations is to put out into the universe what it is you hope to have, achieve, attract or create in your life. They are proven to work, I've done it myself numerous times. The problem for some people when using affirmations is even though the words coming out of their mouth is what they hope to acquire or manifest, there's still a tiny little voice in the back of their mind telling them things like "Yeah, right, like that's going to actually happen" or "you don't deserve that" or "it will never happen, give it up" and those negative thoughts completely negate and override any positive thought or energetic vibration ; it wipes out all the positive frequencies they are hoping to send out.
Years ago I learned about a process called AfFORMations. An afformation is similar to an affirmation, only instead of putting your desire in statement form, you put it in the form of an empowering question. You ask WHY something can happen.
*Why is my business growing?
*Why do I attract money so it comes to me easily and effortlessly?
*Why is it so easy for me to quit smoking?
*Why do I make healthier choices for my body?
*Why is today such n awesome day?
When forming your question, you are assuming it is already true and has already happened! And as you ask these questions, have a sense of wonder (not fear) hopefulness and willingness to let the universe or (GUS as I like to use, God, Universe, Spirit) answer them for you! Don't worry about the HOW, let that reveal itself to you in the serendipitous manner that it will. As I've said time and time again to my clients, trust the process!
When you ask WHY, the WHY is your motive for doing something. If you ask HOW, that would be your method of doing it. We all know if your WHY for doing something is powerful enough, we are motivated to take action and make it happen. (Yes, we still have to take action!)
When you ask an empowering WHY, your mind immediate begins to start to seek an empowering and motivating answer.
You can choose to ask empowering or disempowering questions. Either way, your brain will seek to find the answer. Why not shift the results in favor of what it is you really want?
